What is a splash page and why should you have one?
I’ve found an excellent splash page maker, so I’m trying it out, and I’ve found it’s very easy to make a splash page or lead capture page with. Here’s one of my splash pages if you’d like to have a look: Build your list with ease.
What is a splash page? Basically, it’s a page which loads very fast and makes a point very briefly, to capture the attention of surfers at traffic exchanges. It makes them want to enter their email address for more information (in the case of a lead capture page) or to click on a button to get taken to your main page.
Statistically, people get up to 500% better response to splash pages than they do to standard affiliate pages. There are several reasons for this. A splash page tends to be unique, as the creator puts across their own point of view, or states a fact about the product or program which they are selling that really attracts people. People have seen the affiliate page many times, they may have decided it’s not for them and they are just ignoring it, or it may be too full of detail and they never stopped to really check it out. A splash page captures attention and makes people look twice.

Here are some more of my splash pages: Best Free Home Jobs team page (781 views and 6 clicks this week), Scam or not (252 views and 4 clicks), and Responder Series (233 views, 3 clicks). As you can see, these pages are not slick or fancy, but you won’t get that many clicks on your standard affiliate page, believe me. These pages were all made and hosted at TE Toolbox. The only thing you can’t do with the TE Toolbox splash pages is to insert script, so I can’t use them for lead capture pages because the autoresponder script is not accepted. That’s what sent me looking for a splash page maker which would handle that. TE Toolbox is free to join, and if you upgrade at StartXchange you’ll get a free upgrade at TE Toolbox, which will allow you to make more splash pages, add more url’s to the rotator, and so on.
